Wedding Photography Cheltenham

If you’re getting married this year then there’s a good chance you’ve already chosen your wedding dress. It’s often one of the first things to get picked along with venue, wedding photographer and caterer.

Attending hundreds of weddings a year means we are lucky enough to see lots of beautiful wedding dresses and their very happy owners.

We thought we’d take a moment to look over some of the biggest trends in wedding dresses for this year – have you got a dress with one of these features? If yes then you are bang on trend.

Big is back.
Whilst many of the newer shapes are still filling bridal gown shops there is a resurgence of large, full wedding dresses in fashion circles. A certain Channel 4 documentary may have something to do with several ladies deciding that you get just one day to wear something HUGE and it’s all or nothing in the size-stakes.

And the bride wore… blush.
Forget white, champagne or ivory, there’s a new colour in town called blush and the wedding catwalk shows for 2013 were crammed full of the colour. It’s easy to see why, suiting all skin tones and a break-from-the-norm it makes a statement without compromising on shape and material.

Hi-Lo Silver Lining.
If you’ve seen the Guns and Roses November Rain video you’ll know the concept of the hi-lo wedding dress. If you haven’t got Stephanie Seymour’s supermodel legs (who has?!) or are looking for a more modest option you can still rock this sort of dress on your big day. Designers have included more sophisticated versions in their 2013 collections

Make a statement with your sleeves.
Sleeves have been in hiding for several years with spaghetti straps or completely strapless wedding gowns taking the main stage. 2013 sees sleeves make a comeback and you can make a statement with yours by simply having some. If you want to go a step further make them lacy and long or puffed for full trendsetting points.

Movie Magic.
It’s often the case that top Hollywood films influence the fashion of the year and 2013 is no exception. The release of The Great Gatsby has got us reaching for our cigarette holders and putting feathers in our hair. To channel 1920’s Gatsby on your wedding day think about shape, material and accessories.
